Spend time at the Fair creating your own works of art in the Art Activity Zone.
Located on Ingalls Mall, between Washington Street and 
North University Avenue. This area is open Thurs-Sat, 11am-6pm and Sun noon-6pm.

The following kid-friendly art projects are open to all ages and free to the public.

 

Legoland

Legoland Discovery Center

Builders of every age can let your imagination run wild. Build your own creations with LEGO bricks and help build art murals that will be permanently displayed at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan. 

 

Mixed-Media Mosaics

Detroit Institute of the Arts (DIA)

Mosaics date back 4000 years and have been used in almost every way possible since. Tap into your historic side and develop a mosaic you can display.

 

Fantastic Figurines

Cranbrook Art Museum

Create your own modernist models inspired by designer Alexander Girard's wooden dolls. Participants can design, paint, and embellish their own wooden figurines while looking at some of Girard's designs for inspiration.

 

 

 

Dancing Dinosaurs

University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

  

Build a dinosaur puppet that can dance, stomp, and chomp! Also, check out some dinosaur specimens from our museum.

 

Pinch-a-Pot

Clay Work Studio

Get your hand moving in clay to make your own pinch pot and decorate it with simple tools such as chopsticks, forks, combs, and more.
